Jarrett Tishmack, an environmental convervationist, firefighter, and field technician for the U.S. Forest Service, came down in altitude from his Fort Collins in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado to the Dutch Caribbean.
He became the first person to cross the 15 km Statia Channel from St. Kitts to St. Eustatius. His 4 hours 40 minute swim on November 1st spanned a sea of royal blue before finishing on Sint Eustatius, currently known as Statia and formerly called the Golden Rock.
He has a habit of swimming across gorgeous blue waters to beautiful rocks – he completed the Maui Channel in 2011.
