The event is 1.2 miles long and 1.2 miles high, up in the beautiful lake of Lake Tahoe between California and Nevada. The race will be held on September 14th, one week before the Ironman Lake Tahoe Triathlon. The 1.2-mile swim follows the same swim course as the inaugural Ironman Lake Tahoe and is a plastic-free event that follows the event management principles of the Plastic Disclose Project.
Starting at Kings Beach in North Lake Tahoe on the California side of the lake, the Tahoe Rough Water will be a four-point, rectangle out-and-back course where each wave will start 4 minutes apart. The course will be marked every 200 meters along with large turn buoys.
All participants will receive a set of bamboo utensils in light of the environmental orientation of the event. For out-of-town visitors, go here for hotel deals. Visit the event website here.
