Haley Anderson of the USA (shown with white swim cap on left) won the FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier in Setubal Bay, Portugal to become a 2012 Olympian.

Since she was a promising age-group swimmer, the junior-to-be at the University of Southern California has been constantly improving especially over the last few years. But she has really blossomed in the open water, a relatively new discipline for her.

With her USC coaches – Dave Salo and Catherine Vogt – preparing to fine-tune her for the August 9th final in the Serpentine over the next few months, Anderson is an immediate medal threat.

Congratulations for an Olympic dream come true…now onto the world’s stage.
