Silvie Rybárová and Pilar Geijo won the 2014 FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix circuit (15 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Ciudad de Rosario, 57 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe-Coronda, 88 km Maratón Hernandarias-Paraná, 15 km Playa del Carmen, 32 km Traversée Internationale du lac St-Jean, 34 km Traversée Internationale du lac Memphrémagog, 33 km Ohrid Lake Swim Marathon, and 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli).
The highly unusual tie was a credit to both Rybárová and Geijo who keep switching in and out of the lead throughout the season until it climaxed in a dead heat.
