In the afterglow of the Olympic Games, the 2nd annual Bridge To Bridge 14k marathon swim got underway. From Henley to Marlow, 176 swimmers including four-time Ironman world champion Chrissie Wellington took part and traversed 3 locks and 4 food stops along the course.
100% of the starters finished as the participants swam in pods for support and guidance. Greg Whyte came in first in 2 hours 50 minutes with Wellington right behind. She commented, “It was 14km of heaven…it was such a unique, special and incredibly uplifting experience. The relaxed, sportive nature of the swim ensures that the focus is on teamwork, friendship, fun and camaraderie rather than serious competition.”
