32 km Around Madeline Island In Wisconsin
Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California. The Apostle Island Relay Swim is a 20-mile open water swimming solo and relay competition around Madeline Island in Lake Superior in Bayfield, Wisconsin on August 22nd.
Madeline Island is one of the 22 Apostle Islands in Lake Superior located off the Bayfield peninsula in northern Wisconsin.
The categories include soloists and 2-6 person relay teams. Due to potential difficult conditions, John Murphy and the race organizers may change the course to accommodate various wind and weather conditions. In the event of strong winds, the race may become a out-and-back swim on the lee side of the island.
