The Barra Award for Most Impressive Overall Year was given to swimmers nearly at the opposite ends of the marathon swimming community.

While 16-year-old Charlotte Samuels was taking off time from school to become the youngest person to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming, 62-year old Mo Siegel was taking off time away from his New York-based corporate digs in order to complete a number of marathon swims in Arizona, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
