A Beluga Bestie, Navigating with a Narwhal
The Group for Research and Education on Marine Mammals (GREMM) research team filmed a pod of beluga whales swimming with a narwhal. Confirmed with drone footage, the male narwhal has been adopted by the beluga pod for years. Canadian scientists are interested to see if the narwhal will breed with a beluga to create a “narluga.”

Served on the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee and as Technical Delegate with the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games, and 9-time USA Swimming coaching staff.
