Alain Charmey Award Announced

Ben Barham of the Lake Geneva Swimming Association announced the establishment of the Alain Charmey Award. “It is an award given by the Lake Geneva Swimming Association for its fastest swim of the year.”
The then 34-year-old Swiss Olympic freestyle swimmer swam the length of Lake Geneva in August 1986 in 22 hours 42 minutes from Villeneuve on the eastern end of the lake to Geneva. His crossing was the first time anyone had swam the length of Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
The award and the list of Lake Geneva legends are posted here.
A documentary about Charmey by Bernard Vité is posted here.
