As part of the annual Open Water Swimming Festival on April 12th in Miromar Lakes in Estero, Florida, USA Swimming is rolling out its finest open water swimming educators and motivators on the sport.

An all-star line-up of youth and experience will team up to explain techniques, training and tactics of open water swimming.

Olympian Alex Meyer will join Pan American medalist and Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation’s Teresa Crippen along with Olympic marathon swimming coach and FINA official Rick Walker, long-time USA Swimming manager and open water swimming representative Denny Ryther, and multiple FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup champion Emily Brunemann as coaches and hosts of the clinic.

Fort Myers is where Alex and Emily started their transformations from very good pool swimmers to great open water athletes,,” comments Steven Munatones, a former USA Swimming national team coach. “At the national development camps, Alex and Emily absorbed all the information that was presented and took their initiation to the sport with an unusually high level of passion and commitment. It is great to see them now complete the circle and, in turn, share their expertise and experience with the next generation of young athletes.”
