All In The Family In The Open Water

All In The Family In The Open Water

When dad (Gary Hall, Sr.) and mom (Mary Hall) and sons (Gary Hall, Jr. and Richard Hall) and daughter (Amy Hall) decide to do some filming and teaching in the open water, they bring in personable stars and have a whole lotta fun.

Olympic gold medalists Roland Schoeman and Rebecca Soni spent a week in the Florida Keys filming with Lexie Kelly, in and out and under the water.

The Race Club members are so fluid and in tune with the water like mermen and mermaids.

The 6-time Olympic medalist Soni lives right near the Pacific Ocean in Manhattan Beach, California. She authored Ten Tips for a Great Swim for the Waikiki Roughwater Swim:

1) Preparation is everything.
2) Have no doubts.
3) There are no lane lines in the ocean.
4) Use the proper swim wear.
5) Vaseline and sunscreen are key.
6) Swim part of the course the day before the race.
7) Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
8) Eat what you feel comfortable with the day before the race.
9) Arrive at the beach at least 45 minutes to an hour before the start.
10) Enjoy the race.

Long Beach’s Kelly similar penned a longer article on her experiences on the professional marathon swimming circuit:
