Ana Marcela Cunha Wins 2010 World Cup Title

The final 2010 FINA 10KM Marathon Swimming World Cup rankings were released by FINA.

Ana Marcela Cunha, a nominee for the 2010 World Open Water Swimming Woman of the Year award, won her first overall series title in dramatic fashion.

In the last race of the season, she had to outswim Olympic veteran Angela Maurer and finish at least one place behind her. That she did to win the title and gain an important boost for the upcoming 2011 World Swimming Championships – the qualifier for the 2012 London Olympics 10K Marathon Swim.

Note: only the top six completed the minimum number of races on the circuit and, as such, are ranked before swimmers who have a higher number of points.
