André Wiersig Completes Tough Molokai Channel Crossing
Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California. André Wiersig flew from Germany to Hawaii to attempt his second Oceans Seven channel.
After completing a crossing of the English Channel in 9 hours 43 minutes in 2014, he took nearly twice as long under very rough conditions to complete a crossing of the Molokai Channel in 18 hours 26 minutes. Escorted by Jeff Kozlovich, he finished at Sandy Beach with a few Portuguese man o war stings as oceanic tattoos.
