Andreína Pérez Leads Venezuela In South American Games

2008 Olympic marathon swimmer Andreína del Valle Pinto Pérez will lead the Venezuelan team to the South American Games (Juegos Suramericanos) in Chile on March 7th to 18th.

Andreína is part of a unique duo in the elite marathon swimming world. Andreína placed ninth in the 2008 Olympic 10 km Marathon Swim in Beijing while her sister and fellow marathon swimmer Yanel Pinto finished 14th at the 2012 Olympic 10 km Marathon Swim in London.

But the 2008 Olympian will focus her efforts on the pool while the next generation of Venezuelan open water stars steps into the limelight. Diego Vera, Luis Bolaños, Paola Pérez and Liliana Hernández will compete in the 10 km race in Santiago next month.
