Anton Evsikov Aces Universiade

It was not to be. Matteo Furlan was the defending champion from the 2013 Universiade in Russia and was looking good to repeat at the World University Games in South Korea.

But coming down the final straightaway, Russia’s Anton Evsikov had something just a bit left in his tank and won by 0.3 seconds. Engineering student Matteo Furlan settled for second as Italian teammate Mario Sanzullo captured the bronze.
