The Artwork Of The Borderless World

The Artwork Of The Borderless World

Craig Baskin is inspired by his swimming – and his inspiration turns into real benefits and real cash for charities.

The majority of my paintings are inspired by the many colors and layers I see in the water and on land when I am swimming,” explained Craig who creates his artwork and then donates the proceeds to charities. “Swimming in open water feels borderless, but no matter how far I swim, definite boundaries exist. Ocean swimmers are constantly sighting. These surroundings inspire my work.”

Underwater, it is the layers of sand on the ocean floor with white coral and the blues and greens of long-tumbled beach glass. The silvers, yellows and blues of fish swimming alongside me, and the interface of silver, natural light reflecting from the surface…are all quite riveting. Lifting my head out of the water to breathe, I see the next layers; land and the sun’s emission above the desert, mountains and sky..”

My goal is to raise as much money for worthy non-profits as possible through the donation of my paintings. I donate 100% of the proceeds of my work with the stipulation that 100% of the proceeds go directly to the beneficiaries of the charity. My aim is to help as many people as I can.”
