Open water swimmers are always grateful for one particular set of individuals: life guards and lifesavers.

Surf Life Saving Australia, that oversees 305 local surf lifesaving clubs throughout Australia, announced its first 23 members of its 2010 National High Performance Squad which includes the following members:
