Axel Reymond Wins His Third Lake Ohrid FINA UltraMarathon Swim

France went 1-2 on the women’s side and Axel Reymond won the men’s side in a tough three-way battle at the 25 km FINA UltraMarathon Swim held in Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia yesterday.

Team France took the largest contingent of swimmers to the first FINA UltraMarathon Swim held in 2021 (due to the pandemic). Oceane Cassignol and Caroline Laure Jouisse went one-two while Axel Reymond won his third race in Lake Ohrid. “The 2019 25 km world champion obviously loves this race, butEdoardo Stochino, Evgenij Pop Acev and Marcel Schouten really pushed him yesterday.” mused Steven Munatones.

Reymond won – just barely – over Stochino, Pop Acev and Schouten in a dramatic race at the end. The victory continues quite a career in Lake Ohrid for the French marathon star – who has also done an Ice Kilometer:

2021 in Lake Ohrid: 1st in 5 hours 10 minutes 31.00 seconds
