The Beauty Of Open Water Swimming In Turks & Caicos

The Race For The Conch Eco-SeaSwim in Grace Bay Beach stepped up to the plate again and served beautifully tropical blue seas for his emerging competition in Turks & Caicos.

The contrast of bronzed bodies of all ages and shapes against the turquoise Caribbean Sea in the West Indies was remarkable to witness during the 1-mile and 2.4-mile races that were followed by a 100-meter swim for children. All three races were held at the beautiful and calm Grace Bay Beach in front of Flamingo Cafe, next to Club Med in the country’s capital of Providenciales.
2010 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year Marcos Diaz of the Dominican Republic defended his title from last year in the 1-mile race men’s division and then went on to win the 2.4-mile race for back-to-back victories. Jodi Gomez of Trinidad won the 1-ile race in the women’s division. Copyright © 2011 by Open Water Source
