In Bocas del Toro on Bastimentos Island in Panama, Dan Beeman will host the first 4-mile International Panama Distance Aquatic Challenge. It is a charity swim on behalf of the Bocas Educational Service Organization that serves the youth of Bocas del Toro.
Swimmers will be joined by kayakers, canoers, stand-up paddlers, sailors, and boaters from Isla Colon at Bocas Town Marina to Bastamentos Island at Red Frog Marina. The proceeds will be used to establish scholarships for the Bocas Educational Service Organization.
Beeman explains, “Besides being a fundraiser for the Bocas Educational Service Organization, we are raising awareness for Vitiligo, a hereditary skin condition. Our goal is to build a community-oriented event that will celebrate the beauty of the area and serve as a connection among the entire aquatic and boating community with a common cause. I envision 100 different aquatic vessels in a parade protecting the swimmers.”
