The third annual international Coppa Sicilia will be held in September off the islands of Favignana, located about 7K from the northwest part of Sicily, Italy. Part of the F.I.N. (Italian Swimming Federation) circuit, the 4-part Coppa Sicilia is open to all.
Swimmers will stay at Punta Fanfalo Valtur resort where the first leg will start.
On September 7th, the first leg is a 6.1K swim from Punta Fanfalo to Punta S. Nicola. On September 8th, the second leg is a 4.3K swim from Punta Fanfalo to Cala Monaci. On September 10th, the third leg is a 9.7K swim from CALA Rotonda to Lido Plaja. On September 11th, the fourth leg is a 3K swim from Punta Fanfalo to Lido Burrone.
The courses for each leg will be along the beautiful coast. At the end of the 4-race event, individual rankings will be determined by the Italian Swimming Federation (F.I.N.) and the top five men and women will receive Coppa Silicia awards. There is also a relay competition based on the times of the three best swimmers of each club.
