Bettina Lorscheitter First To Win Three
Courtesy of Francismar Siviero from Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Grêmio Náutico União’s Betina Lorscheitter won each of the three races in the Circuito Light Rei e Rainha do Mar event on Copacabana Beach this past weekend.
The professional marathon swimmer and university student won the 1 km Sprint in 11:21, the 2 km Classic in 26:01, and the 4 km Challenge in 53:30 with not a lot of time between each race.
With over 3,000 participants, she summed up the local buzz and her goals. “I love this event. I had the opportunity to swim in the Elite Challenge where I finished third next to Samuel de Bona which was a very important result. Today I came here with the intention of training, but also to win.”
