Robert Downey Jr.’s FootPrint Coalition, Schmidt Ocean Institute & EarthEcho International Honored
Hollywood actor and producer Downey says, ““In 11 years, when I’m 65, if we make a noble dent in what I consider is a massive threat to our future – the mess we leave behind – I’m going to come back, and I’m going to throw the nuttiest retirement party you’ve ever seen, and all of you are invited.”
The Schmidt Ocean Institute is a non-profit operating foundation established in 2009 by Google’s former CEO and leading technologist Eric Schmidt and his wife Wendy. The Institute works to advance oceanographic research, discovery, and knowledge, and catalyze sharing of information about the oceans.
EarthEcho International is an environmental nonprofit organization founded in honor of oceanographer Philippe Cousteau, by his children and widow. The foundation envisions a world where every individual, from all backgrounds and experiences, has the opportunity and tools to create a healthy and thriving environment. To that end, our mission is to build a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet.
