Brasil Swim To Gold In South American Team Pursuit

The 3 km mixed team pursuit event at the 2014 South American Games (X Juegos Suramericanos) in Santiago, Chile had no real surprise at the top of the podium.

Brazil, the best performing open water swimming nation at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain last summer, proved its dominance once again with a strong gold medal victory in the 3 km mixed-gender event. Ana Marcela Cunha, Diogo Andrade Villarinho, and Allan Do Carmo swam streamlined, strategically and strong to victory at Laguna Curauma, a lake in Chile between Viña del Mar and Valparaíso near the coast, this morning.

2. Ecuador (34:44:24) with Samantha Arevalo Salinas, Santiago Enderica Salgado, Esteban Enderica Salgado

4. Argentina (35:04:70) with Cecilia Biagioli, Martín Carrizo Yunges, Guillermo Bertola
5. Venezuela (36:08:81) with Luis Bolaños, Diego Vera, Liliana Hernandez
