The picturesque Burgh Island Swim event will take place on September 4th when an estimated 160 swimmers take to the one-mile swim off Bigbury on Sea off the South Devon coast. The swim that will offer one of Britain’s most spectacular round-island swims.
The approximate time for the swim is 40-60 minutes and registration for the event is £30 which will include an event t-shirt and swim cap, a medal on completion of the swim and an end of swim snack. Event Water Safety will provide the expert safety cover for the swim.
The event is being organized by the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer, a local charity that supports men with prostate cancer and their families across Devon and Cornwall, asks participating swimmers to raise the minimum of £50. Hummer Award (2007, 2010) and Harvard University's John B. Imrie Award (1984). Served on the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee and as Technical Delegate with the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games, and 9-time USA Swimming coaching staff.
