The 24th annual Buzzards Bay Swim will be held in New Bedford Harbor on June 24th in its continued effort to raise money and awareness to help protect the water in Buzzards Bay.

The efforts of the Buzzards Bay Coalition is now aided by this swim and enabling the Coalition to expand its professional team by adding several new full-time positions to help achieve the clean water vision that these forward-thinking community members set forth.

With the addition of these positions, the Coalition’s team will grow to 20 conservation professionals, as well as 4 seasonal part-time staff, 5 service members, and countless volunteers who help us carry out our mission of protecting and restoring the Bay ecosystem through science, advocacy, conservation, and education,” wrote its Board of Directors. “All of these positions are available immediately.”

The position include a Water Resources Specialist (who will implement wastewater solutions to reduce nitrogen pollution), an Onset Bay Center Director (who will manage the Onset Bay Center and 26 acres of conservation lands), and an Executive Assistant (who will provide governance, fundraising, and administrative support).

Other seasonal positions include a Boat Captain, the Baywatchers Assistant Coordinator for the Baywatchers monitoring program, and a Summer Outreach Manager for the Woods Hole Outreach Center.
