Cecilia Biagioli And Julien Sauvage Take First Stage In Rosario

ROSARIO, Argentina. Julien Sauvage of France and Cecilia Biagioli of Argentina won the 18º Maratón Acuática Internactional Ciudad de Rosario, the kick-off of the 2012 FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix in Rosario, Argentina yesterday.

Julien beat 27 competitors from 9 countries just slightly ahead of second-place Romain Berraud of France and third-place Argentine Damián Blaum of Argentina in the 15K triangular circuit course off the coast of Rosario.

Cecilia defended her title from 2010 and 2011, winning for the second consecutive year over second-place Anna Uvarova of Russia and third-place Ophelie Asprod of France.

Julien and Cecilia both qualified for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympics by virtue of their top 10 finishes at the 2011 World Swimming Championships in Shanghai. They certainly started their 2012 marathon swimming campaign where they want to finish it in London.
