Chocolate Indulgence In A Coffee Cup

Chocolate Indulgence In A Coffee Cup

We are supposed to eat healthfully: lots of vegetables, no salty snack foods, and limit the carbohydrates.

That is all fine and good, but it is so fun to eat the good stuff: the sweet stuff, the salty stuff, the greasy stuff.

And those foods especially taste good after a long, hard workout: blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon, a juicy hamburger.

These might not be for everyone, but we find that eating off the grid (i.e., unhealthy) does not lead to massive gains if the portions are moderate size.

So this Nutella Mug Cake seems to be justifiably acceptable, especially on a long swim when we serve as an Observer or support crew waiting through the night on a long marathon swim or channel crossing or perhaps for volunteers at a local open water swim in the early morning hours.

Pour Nutella and the ingredients below into a coffee cup, mix until smooth, microwave, and voilà…enjoy in a few minutes: 4 tablespoons self-rising flour, 4 tablespoons sugar, 1 egg, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 3 tablespoons Nutella, 3 tablespoons milk, 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, and whipped cream if you want.
