Christine Jennings Outruns Poliana Okimoto In Grid Sprint
Christine Jennings proved faster on land than her Brazilian Olympian rival Poliana Okimoto at the Queen of the Sea (Rainha do Mar) competition on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro in front of a television audience. The 700-meter sprint offered cash prizes down to 8th place and determined the starting position in tomorrow’s Queen of the Sea. The finish was exciting and determined on the last few steps.
