Description

Bengisu AVCI started her swimming life at Aegean, Turkey in 2002. She first competed at 200, 400m distances, then she changed her profession to longer distances to.5k and 10k . She has received many champion titles in Turkey, become a National Team member and represented her country in LEN Cup and European Juniors between 2011 to 2015.

In 2017 she attempt to swim the English Channel, swam for 7hrs in cold water, she faced hypotermia and ended her attempt. After this tragic experience, she didn‘t lose her faith and made a second attempt at the following season. In 2018 she reached her goal and swum the Channel in a time of 11hrs 29m, which gave her the title of “ Fastest woman of Turkey “

ın 2022 She become the First woman swam across Catalina Island-California and started coaching Channel swimmers. She swam Strait of Gibraltar with the Turkish Record and Manhattan Island swim, which gave her the title first “Triple crown” swimmer (woman) of Turkey.

She is still competing and help others to reach their dreams .
