Clive Choate established the Mandurah Triathlon Club in 1988 together with Richard Garnsworthy and Doug Ray. He is a triathlete, endurance enthusiast and open water swimmer who assisted Jennifer Hurley as a paddler on an unprecedented 30 km circumnavigation of Halls Head Island in Western Australia.
