Dave Thomas is an American pool and open water swimming coach and consultant. He was the 1999 recipient of the Glen S. Hummer Award that is given annually by USA Swimming to the individual who makes the greatest contribution to open water swimming . He is currently a USA Swimming Sport Development Consultant ( USA Swimming Southern Zone Sport Development Consultant) who travels around the Southern Zone of the United States providing professional advice to USA Swimming teams, coaches and athletes. He has been on a number of international competitions as a staff member and organized the annual USA Swimming open water swimming development camps.
