John Graeme West of New Zealand is a member of the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee ( TOWSC ) for the 2009-2013 and 2013-2017 and 2017-2021 terms. He is often the head referee in several international competitions including serving as the head referee for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games women’s 10 km marathon swim .
