Klaus Barth was a German Olympic swimmer, coach of high school athletes, age-group athletes, masters swimmers , and open water swimmers , who was also an Ironman triathlete who placed fourth overall in the 1986 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii at the age of 37 with a time of 9:03; beaten by Dave Scott, Mark Allen, and Scott Tinley.
