Zhang Jie is a Chinese open water swimmer and coach at Beijing Sports University who crossed the Cook Strait on 25 February 2007 at the age of 19 in 8 hours 3 minutes. She was the first Chinese swimmer to accomplish that feat. She currently teaches at Beijing Sports University with Zhang Jian .
