Pound for pound, Matthew Davie has to be on the toughest cold-water swimmers in the world.

With a body fat percentage well under 6%, the former collegiate swimming star has no problem swimming in Lake Tahoe at altitude in 43°F (6.1°C) water.



I have to dodge mini-icebergs out there,” recalled Matthew who is intelligently acclimating himself to increasing colder temperatures.

His comment was reflective of more reality than exaggeration in today’s morning training session in one of California’s most popular high-altitude training venues.
