Colin MacLeod of Scotland completed two swims on June 15th as part of a collaborative charity challenge.

His Barra to Eriskay sea crossing was successfully swam in 3 hours and 5 minutes. The 6-mile course follows the Barra-Eriskay ferry route between Ardmhor on Barra and Ceann a Gharaidh on Eriskay. Then, later in the day, MacLeod swam the Sound of Harris (between the Isle of Berneray and the Isle of Harris) in 3 hours 40 minutes. The Sound of Harris provides the main sea passage through the Hebridean chain from the Atlantic Ocean to The Minch.

Both swims were reportedly the first of their kind.

MacLoad has previously completed a number of swims around the western isles, including a relay swim from Stornoway to Ullapool.
