Against The Current, set in Easter Island, is a feature-length documentary by Plastic Oceans International, narrated by actor Matthew Modine.


Against The Current chronicles South Africa’s Sarah Ferguson who became the first person to swim around Easter Island in Polynesia. Her 60 km 19 hour 8 minute Swim Against Plastic raised awareness about plastic pollution and the need to protect the marine environment.
