Anna Brown became the first woman to achieve the Peak and Pond Challenge when she completed a 33.5 km 13 hour 52 minute crossing of the English Channel that followed her 2018 summit of Mount Everest.

Anna Brown is a mountaineer who first summited Mount Everest and then subsequently crossed the English Channel in 13 hours 52 minutes to become the first women to join the Peak and Pond Club, among the 12 men who are the only humans to climb Mount Everest and cross the English Channel.

Why she was nominated

For realizing her childhood dream of crossing the English Channel while raising money and awareness for Safe Passage, a charity dedicated to protecting unaccompanied children in Europe who are extremely vulnerable.
