About
Jennifer Dutton, an inductee in the Vermont Open Water Swimming Hall of Fame, has spent two decades developing the mental, emotional, and physical strength to complete long open water swims; she built up to Lake Geneva (70k) with successful lengthwise crossings of Lake Tahoe, Lake Memphremagog, and Lake George, among others.
Why She Was Nominated
She returned to swimming after a serious brain injury in college forced an early retirement, and left her with extreme nausea and light sensitivity, which causes challenges with feeding during her swims. Training during the pandemic led to creativity- she swam about 75 miles in place in a 2 x 3 m pool in her back yard.
