Kyra Wijnker won the Amstel IISA Netherlands Championships Ice Kilometer, finishing slightly behind the men’s overall winner. She won the Cheltenham IISA Great Britain Championships Ice Kilometer, finishing a close 3rd behind the top two men, and finished 2nd at the IISA Germany Championships Ice Kilometer. At the Open Dutch Championship / Green Heart Ice Swim, she was only 1.5 seconds behind the overall men’s winner.
Why it was nominated
For performing so well in her third International Ice Swimming Association World Cup while pushing the top men on the IISA World Cup circuit.
