Lake George, the Queen of American Lakes, has been crossed by marathon swimmers since 1958, but Dr. Caroline Block became the first person to complete a 103.6 km two-way crossing finishing in 52 hours 24 minutes.

Why it was nominated

For completing another multi-day non-stop marathon swim and setting a world record in 52 hours 24 minutes to pioneer another swim.
