Crowded Catalina Continues

Crowded Catalina Continues

Even after the resolution of the strike at 29 West Coast ports that affected 40% of the amount of imports coming into America, in he Catalina Channel is still crowded with tankers and cargo ships waiting to offload their goods in the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor. But fortunately, the backlog in the San Pedro Channel between Long Beach Harbor and Santa Catalina Island is being gradually reduced.

While the tankers will not get in the way of channel crossings by relays and soloists this summer, the sight of so many large cargo ships sitting outside the Long Beach Harbor – anchored off in the horizon – is unusual.
