Daniel Martinez Lobo Completes Catalina And Chorizo Four

With his recent crossing of the Catalina Channel, John Tierney reported that Daniel Martinez Lobo became the first individual in the world to complete the Chorizo Four.*

The Spanish open water swimmer from the Serpentine Swimming Club completed the Catalina Channel in 14 hours 8 minutes on October 15th to complete the quartet of marathon swims.

In 2013, he completed Neda el Món‘s 22.3 km Illes Formigues – Illes Medes (Medes to Formigues Islands swim) in Catalonia, Spain in 8 hours 9 minutes and the Strait of Gibraltar in 7 hours 9 minutes. In 2014, he completed a crossing from England to France in 14 hours 43 minutes.
