Daniel Takata Wins 2nd Consecutive FINA Title With The 10K
Daniel Takata Gomes is a statistician, professor and talented columnist and reporter of pool and open water swimming in Brazil. One of the key assets of the SWIM Channel Magazine who analyzes the sport in unique ways utilizing data in a clear, colorful manner, Takata has helped shape the upstart Brazilian publication that was awarded the 2012 World Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year.
He also won the international short story competition held by FINA Aquatics World Magazine for the second consecutive year. His 2012 award-winning article was for his reporting of the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Southern California native, born 1962, is the creator of the WOWSA Awards, Oceans Seven, Openwaterpedia, Citrus Corps, World Open Water Swimming Association, Daily News of Open Water Swimming, Global Open Water Swimming Conference.
