The
Discoverer is the solar-powered boat that will escort
Ben Lecomte across the
Pacific Ocean from Tokyo to San Francisco on history’s longest stage swim attempt of 5,419 miles (8,721 km).
The Discoverer will be open to the public who will be able to meet Lecomte and his crew, tour the Discoverer, learn about the scientific experiments, and watch the Discoverer set sail on its final test run.
On March 1st at 10 am, visitors at the
AltaSea at the port of Los Angeles can also directly ask Lecomte questions about his
transoceanic training, nutrition, strategy, anticipated problems, equipment, crew, personal and scientific goals, communication tools, logistics and operations.
The Discoverer that is being prepared for
The Longest Swim and is currently docked at Berth 58 at the AltaSea campus, 2456 South Signal Street, San Pedro, California 90731. Parking is available along the sides of Berths 57-60.
