60-year-old Antonio Argüelles recalled his 64.6 km two-way crossing of the Catalina Channel that took him 24 hours 17 minutes earlier this year in August 2019, “Open water swimming seems usually as a personal endeavor, where the swimmer is alone against the forces nature. Actually, I have always believed that it is a team effort, there are many people involved in a successful crossing.”
