Dramatic Dive Attempt Across The Catalina Channel
Scott Cassell, a veteran deep-sea explorer and counter-terrorist operative and combat diver, will attempt to dive 30 miles from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California coastline. In an attempt to draw attention to saving the oceans, he expects to be completely submerged for up to 24 hours underwater.
He is correct in his statement, “If we were to see the devastation that has occurred in the ocean, as if it were on land, we would be horrified.”

Inductee in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Swimmer, Class of 2001) and Ice Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Contributor - Media, Class of 2019), recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame's Poseidon Award (2016), International Swimming Hall of Fame's Irving Davids-Captain Roger Wheeler Memorial Award (2010).
