Drury Gallagher Accepts Honors At The United Nations

Drury Gallagher, who kick-started the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in the 1980s, was back in town to accept his second Hall of Fame honor.

The Hall of Fame masters swimmer with 27 world records was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame and gave a humble, funny and historical speech looking back upon his illustrious career. A man who always gives back to the sport and supports the community of open water swimmers, he is a treasure and was rightly honored.
