Elite Race For Prize Money In The Henley Classic

The Henley Swim Classic will hold an inaugural Elite cash-prize race in addition to its early-morning amateur heats after its June 24th races on Henley-on-Thames.

The upstream 2.1 km race will have separate heats for men and women with prize money of £500.

Athletes hoping to race in the Elite category must meet one of the following criteria:

• Athletes who have competed in FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup events between 2008-2011
• Athletes who have competed in FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix events between 2008-2011
• Athletes who have competed in FINA World Swimming Championships 5 km, 10 km or 25 km races since 2006
• Athletes who have competed in FINA World Swimming Championships in pool events since 2006
• Men under 16:15 for 1,500m since 2009
• Women under 9:00 for 800m since 2009
• Member of a British Swimming Squad 2011/2012
• Members of national swimming squads 2011/2012 (e.g., Scotland, England and Wales)
• Triathletes who have competed in an ITU world triathlon series event
• Triathletes who have competed in Elite Great Britain national series event along with a 800/1500 pool time.
